Sunday Funday and Fiesta Fun

Seeing as how Saturday has already rolled around again, I need to catch up....
What a fantastic Sunday Funday for our little family! We enjoyed a lovely made-from-scratch breakfast. That's right folks, this momma cooks a lot now and, though many times it is trial and error, I am pleased to say I have not had a meal fall into the epic fail category in quite some time. I then rushed to get clothes ready for the little Birdies and Daddy...ugh, why must clothes be ironed? Needless to say, we managed to get everyone dressed, out the door, and to church with plenty of time to spare. We got settled into our usual seats near the door that heads out to the nursery. Why? Well, the twins have been known, up until recently, to "get kicked out" for lack of a better way to put it. They would cry and scream and wouldn't stop until I came and got them. BUT, I am pleased to say we have turned a corner. Praise the Lord the twins now love to play in the nursery!!!! Woohoo...what a blessing. Isabelle gets out of Daddy's arms and heads straight for the baby dolls while Sophia makes her way over the the play kitchen to whip up something yummy. This marks a huge milestone for our family. The sweet ladies that were working in their room that morning even told me what great little helpers they were when it came time to clean up. After a marvelous morning of worship, we headed home for lunch and nap time. Ahhh nap time, a window of opportunity to race to get caught up on the household chores and organize the chaos from the morning. We were also super excited to get ready for our Fiesta Supper Club. Oh boy did we have some Fiesta Fun! We are so blessed with such amazing friends. The kiddos went from swimming to playing to riding toys to pulling wagons to swimming to eating to swinging to sliding to playing to eating to ending the night with a little game of tennis.
Whew, it was a whirlwind of fun and we were sad it had to come to an end. Hudson is already for another party!

Not your average diaper change...

With three kiddos 3 and under, life is, more often than not, crazy. Life as a parent of multiples is, more often than not, crazy. That being said, the twins are becoming a bit more self-sufficent...and we may be on to something here...
Sophia decided to be proactive and help her sister out! She managed to gather all of the necessary supplies: wipes, diapers, hiney cream. She even managed to get the diaper pulled down a bit and un-done....if only she would have taken the shorts off first. Oh, but with mommy's help, she changed her sister like a champ! What's a sister to do in return as a thank you? Well, Miss Isabelle took charge and helped changed Sophia's diaper. Seriously, since we are not quite ready to potty train full force....could this work? Amusing nonetheless:)))

Mother of all ouchies!

Praise the Lord we made it 3.5 years before our first "emergency" with a little one and thankfully it wasn't as aweful as it could have been!!! Whew!!! Ok, so here's the scoop. It was Sunday Funday and for a big boy treat Hudson was invited out to lunch with YaYa, KK and Mrs. Carol. All was going well until.....BAM! Hudson was apparently sitting in his chair which was super close to the table and started pushing against the edge of the table. All of a sudden, the chair went back, chin hit the table, blood started gushing and screaming began. I got a call from Auntie KK, my heart sank, and I ran like a bat out of hell down to The Gruene Door. My poor little guy (and his YaYa) were covered in blood, they had towel and ice to the chin, and there were of course lots of tears....broke my heart. We hurried into YaYa's car and headed to the minor emergency clinic. Needless to say, Hudson was scared but all in all he was a true CHAMP! Thankfully we were able to calm him down and keep him still. Because it was a straight gash of sorts, they were able to use the super cool Dermabond glue (aka "special purple medicine" because Hudson was not too fond of the idea of being glued back together) instead of having to go the "stitches" route.
So after a cool big boy bandaid, some motrin and a fresh change of clothes, our little guy got a special treat for being so brave!
And we're all smiles again:)

Mother of all ouchies...Day 3...healing nicely!
Day 5..."Mom, I've got this"...no fear!
