A little of this and a little of that...

Seriously, where has the time gone??? My babies are 7 months old, crawling all over the place, getting into anything and everything, cutting teeth like champs, and are officially helmet free with the most perfect little heads. Hudson seems to have grown up overnight. He talks non-stop and has quite an extensive vocabulary, forgets nothing, plays hard, helps Mommy and Daddy with everything, and loves his little sisters oh so much!

A little glimpse into our summer days...

Wanted: taller slide and bigger pool!
 Look out...Isabelle on the move!
 Sweet Sophia
Little Stinker
 Trouble times two!
 Isabelle loving the water...
Sophia not too sure about the water...
 Squirt me...I love it!
Still not too sure about the water...
 Could not get enough!
 Finally loving it...
 Learning to float
Cruising on his big boy bike!

Oh and Monday was the twins' DOC band graduation day. They had to get naked for the 3D imaging and "after" photos, so we chilled in the room in between photo sessions.
Isabelle to Sophia: "Will trade butt cream for the dirty diaper bag holder"...no interest at all in the toys I brought
"Excuse me...you want me to do what?"
"Why am I naked and where's my helmet???"

Oh and then there is my son.....the ladies' man!!!
Hudson and Miss Alexa Jayne...his "Uptown Girl" as he likes to call her:)

How I wish time would slow down just a bit!!!

Bye Bye DOC Bands

Come Monday my little birds will get to bid farewell to their fashionable headgear!!! The past eight weeks have gone by much quicker than I had anticipated and my how their little heads have changed! These helmets have worked amazingly well. The only downfall is that the girls have grown accustomed to having the added head protection. I guess they will learn rather quickly that if they get too crazy and adventurous in their now very mobile state that bumping their heads against things, the concrete floor, or even each other will hurt.

We will miss our weekly visits to Austin to see Miss Amy, who has taken such wonderful care of my precious babies and their heads. Monday she will take final measurements, the "after" photos, and one more round of 3D imaging to show all of the improvements. We will even get to bring their little "head-sickles" home...pictures to come for those of you who are curious. This DOC band journey is nearly complete and we are looking forward to spending more time in the great outdoors and swimming!!!

Strike a Pose

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE pictures! We have the most fabuous photographer...Amber Walters of A. Leigh Photography...who has so perfectly captured the heartwarming smiles, giggles, funny faces, crazy moments, and life of all my little ones. She is so patient and super sweet. Hudson is at that age where he is not too terribly fond of having his picture taken, but she worked her magic and he was "hamming" it up for her. I wish I could post them all, but here are some shots from our most recent shoot....twins are 6 months old and Hudson is a big 2 year old!

Seven Random Things

My sister-in-law tagged me in her blog assigning me to to share seven random things about myself and then to tag some more people. So here's to you, Catie Grace, and here it goes....

1. I never leave the house without sunscreen. I want skin like my mother's and thankfully have genetics on my side, but a daily dose of SPF is a must.
2. If I had to choose between something sweet or salty...sweet everytime!
3. I would say that I am a domestic failure bouncing back. Yes, I now cook and hope to one day love it.
4. Back in the day I was queen of the fair...tiara and all...Devon, you remember those days:)
5. I have moved nearly 20 times in less than 30 years.
6. My most recent accomplishment: In and out of Target in less than 20 minutes with every item on my list, spending less than $100, all 3 kids and a double BOB in tow!
7. I am a bit clumsy....even broke my foot while 8 months pregnant with Hudson.

To the following sweet ladies, consider yourself tagged:

Do you know where your children are???

Now that the little birds are mobile, they are getting into all sorts of mischief! Whoever said, "It's double the giggles and double the grins, and double the trouble if you're blessed with twins" was spot on....and throw a "too big for his own britches" two year old into that mix and this is what you get...

You know what they're thinking...."Mommy always says to share"...Priceless!
They managed to do this in a matter of seconds. I fear the level of craziness is about to soar in the Bird House for they are quick and resourceful and there are two. Our life...crazy fun for sure!!!

Are they twins???

I get this question all the time!!! Really people??? Yes, they are identical twins. I know Sophia is a bit chunkier and has slightly more hair, but their features are identical. Plus when we get out and about I usually have them dressed in matching or coordinating outfits and they also have matching DOC bands...come on now! Are people just not thinking before they speak or are they genuinely serious when they ask this question? I think the next time I get asked this, I am going to say no just to see what kind of response I get:)

Out with the old and in with the new...

We all know Hudson's most favorite thing....tractors! He can hear one of GoGo's tractors coming from a mile away. I swear the kid has tractor radar. So you might be able to imagine the excitement that came with  the special delivery on Saturday morning. His GoGo traded in one of his kubotas, the "old one" according to Hudson, for a bright shiny new one, and needless to say, Hudson was beyond thrilled. He realized, though, that he could no longer refer to them as the "old one" and "new one". So now there is the "brandy new" tractor and the one formerly known as the "new one" has been demoted to the "dirty" tractor!

Hudson was excited to get to work with the "brandy new" one and informed me that I was not allowed to drive it:) He worked so much with his Daddy and GoGo that by Monday he told GoGo that he was too tired to ride the "brandy new" one anymore today!
