A Baptism for 2!

18....it seems to be the lucky number for our family. Derek and I had our first adventure together on the 18th of June, our son was born on the 18th of February, our twins were born on the 18th of December, and now the 18th of September holds a special place in our hearts as this was the date the twins were baptized. Here are some pictures, with a bit of commentary, of the blessed event....

A calm picture....before the twins decided to get "vocal"....and before Hudson decided to, well, you'll see...
Sophia getting a little pre-splash love from Miss Liv and Isabelle checking out what's above.
Hudson getting a little "warning" to be a good boy, to stand still and watch quietly...ha...it's only just begun....
Hudson had no shame "hamming" it up at the front and going up the stairs...
....and down the stairs...
...and why not mix in a little dance...
Mommy and Daddy both caught giving him the super displeased, we are mortified parents, and you are about to be in serious trouble looks! Notice Isabelle watching him, smiling, as if she is taking a mental note of his mischief? At least Sophia's too busy trying to get Daphne's pearls to know what's going on.
Hudson's face says it all:"What are they going to do? Spank me in front of the entire congregation? I think not!"
Isabelle was born first....and baptized first
 Sophia checking out his beard
What a wonderful day! It wouldn't have been an event with the Birds if there wasn't just a bit of chaos!
Uncle RaRa treated us all to lunch after the occasion...Hudson hanging with his cousins at The Gruene Door!

And the party never ends!

What a whirlwind weekend of fun! We had a blast celebrating the twins' baptism and birthdays of some very special little girls! At Miss Liv's Flamingo Bash, Hudson was introduced to the kid-classic summer staple for water fun...the slip'n slide. He was in heaven playing with the big boys, sliding and swimming. They even proceeded to pour bubbles into the "big" swimming pool and created quite the site....Mommy forgot her camera, but pics to come eventually. What kid doesn't like to swim in a cold pool full of bubbles? After the water fun, delicious food, cake on the go, and a little rain, the sugar coma set in and it was off to nap. The next morning the twins were baptized and oh was it eventful having all the little Birds at the front of the church! That afternoon Meme and Auntie KK came to the house to babysit the twins so we could take Hudson to Miss Millie's birthday party.

Ready to swim!
Miss Millie Mouse and her Mommy
The cutest little bumble bee!

He got to swim with Daddy and had tons of fun jumping in all by himself.
You would think these kiddos would be partied out, but no... the party never ends....we headed back to the Bird house with the Noonan clan.

 Liv and Sophia
Isabelle heading in to join the fun!
Liv wondering about Hudson's fashion sense with those boots...thinking he's a hot mess!

We also decided to be extra efficient....3 babies and a big boy in one bath...why not?

Busy Little Birds

Busy, busy, busy....September continues to be busy for the Birds! Between birthdays, baptisms, big boy room construction, pictures, pediatrician, and the Comal County Fair, there won't be much time to spare over the next week and a half. We love to celebrate birthdays around here and today marks the first of many for one special little friend...Miss Liv! I think there is going to be some delicious 3-layer cake tonight...woohoo! Tomorrow we get to party down and splash around at her Fabulous Flamingo Bash (her mommy even bought a whole flock of flamingos to adorn the yard--pics to come), Sunday the twins are being baptized, and then that afternoon it is off to the Millie Mouse Clubhouse for another first birthday paaaaarty! Hudson is so pumped. He picked out the presents and can't wait to give them. It is so cute and makes me so happy that he loves to give almost as much as he likes to receive. I am pleased to announce that he has also moved past his phase of crying during the "happy birthday" song, so that is a definite plus.

That covers some of the birthdays and the baptism...on to the construction. Hudson's GoGo spoils him rotten and drew the most wonderful plans for his new big boy room, well more like a little big boy suite, that is now under construction. His Daddy is a bit jealous thinking that one day that area was going to be his "man cave". But he and my little man are so excited about this new "job". Hudson loves going up there at the end of each day to "work" and "clean all that mess up" with his Daddy or GoGo. He can't wait to move his big boy bed into his new big boy room. He even said one sissy could have his old room. When asked what color he wanted his new room to be...you guessed it...blue. His YaYa has tried to convince him to try a green without much luck. So blue it will be...with room for tractors and choo-choo trains and all things boy!

Along with being baptized on Sunday, the twins will be 9 months old! Holy crap where does the time go??? They have their check-up with Dr. Owens on Wednesday and I am anxious to see how much they have grown...how "off the charts" my little chunky monkey is...how wonderfully perfect they are! Then the following week we have pictures with the amazing Amber to forever mark this milestone....so abundantly blessed!

Did somebody say rodeo? Yep, Hudson wants to go to the rodeo. He became interested in this one night while his YaYa was babysitting. She, too, spoils him rotten and was letting him stay up late to snuggle on the couch. They watched some cooking....yes, he likes Food Network....and then somehow ended up watching the rodeo. He enjoyed it enough to tell me all about it the next day and said one day he wanted to go to the rodeo. Well, with the Comal County Fair also comes the rodeo and Hudson is ready to go!

More updates and pictures to come of all the FUN!!!

Say "Cheese" Please

You all know how much I love, love, love pictures. It was so much easier to get great shots with just one kiddo, but trying to corral 3 crazy little birds for even one sweet moment with all smiles has proved to be nearly impossible. I am persistent and determined, so try as I may, one day I will accomplish such a task! Here are some attempts and some funny ones mixed in...
Take 1...so close but it only goes downhill
Foot in the mouth...but still happy
Hudson had enough.
Take 2...I had no chance...they are so fast!!!
Tractors are more important...and Hudson was soooooooooo sweet to share
"Do these make my butt look big?"

All in their own little worlds!

Ok, so Hudson loves his sunglasses and has to have them at all times while outdoors...so while we were at Target the other day he spotted some for his sisters...
Isabelle loved them! Future little diva....Daddy's in trouble!!!
As far as Sophia loving them...not so much! I think she was also pretty pissed about the clip I put in her hair to keep it out of her eyes.
And some recent randoms...
 Good Morning!
Happy Baby!
Excuse me...
 It wasn't me...
Watching big brother head off in his "car" with YaYa and Henry!
Promising not to drive too crazy!
If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!...My little entertainer:)
 Pure mischief...
...always!

And the twins first bath in the regular bath tub...
 Sophia loving it!
This tub has all the goods....so many toys to chew on.
Identical twins for sure:)

To the moon and back...

Wow, this has been a rough week! Just when we thought we were free of the horrific stomach bug here at the Bird House....it struck again....this time Derek and the twins....on the same night...with a vengeance. It was awful and I have been one tired mommy! Now that we have all suffered through the misery of this thing, we just pray that it doesn't return. Needless to say there hasn't been much time for blogging, but the happiest point of my days recently is well worth a little post.

Mommy: "Hudson, I love you!"
Hudson: "I love you too, Mommy!"
Mommy: "Hudson, do you know how much I love you?"
Hudson: "A whole lot!"
Mommy: "Do you know how much is 'a whole lot'?"
Hudson: "To the moon and back a million times over!"
Mommy: "That's right....I love you to the moon and back a million times over!"

How I pray that he never outgrows this adorableness...it melts my heart!

Crash

Crash...Well not really a crash, but a sweet older gentleman did accidentally tap the back of the tahoe with his car. So yep, I got rear-ended this morning in San Antonio with all the kiddos in the car. Thankfully it was very minor and everyone is ok. It did scare my little man though...."Mommy, someone hit us, someone hit us....oh no, oh no!!!" He was such a trooper though and was super excited to see the policeman and his car. While we waited, he helped entertain his sisters, who don't particularly care for their carseats if the car is not moving. I think we were all tired of playing peek-a-boo by the time it was all said and done. Hudson did find it funny when the officer peeked in asked how many kids I had in there....he yelled out to him "just me and each sissy". On a side note...leaving a potty in the car in case of emergency also proved to be a smart move, seeing as how I didn't think the officer, nor the onlookers at the California Pizza Kitchen, would appreciate it if my son went tee-tee on the plants at the Quarry Market. Needless to say, we all survived the accident and made our way safely home. Hudson had to call everyone to tell them that someone hit us and also made sure to tell the cars passing by...."Don't hit us, don't hit us!"
